Google in the News
I try not to write about boring personal stuff in this blog, but a colleague and I made front page of the Detroit News Business section yesterday for our work on Google Apps for Education.
To make this post more worth your time, I should tell you that if you know any small/mid business owners, they’ll love you if tell them about the Google Apps Standard Edition. In short, it’ll give them a custom-branded e-mail solution with free anti-spam and anti-virus while saving them thousands per year. No joke.
In closing, I’m not allowed to speak on behalf of Google so this post is purely informative and of my own opinion.
Update: Just came across a great 1min57sec Google Apps ‘Quick Tour’ for those interested:

Hi Michael. Nice work. BTW, I recall you posting helpful answers in the AdWords Help groups before you started working for Google. Now that you’re on the “other” side, could you explain why AdSense for Domains doesn’t run on its own network on the AdWords side? IOW, why does that traffic run across both the search and content networks instead of on a new, separate network?
Thanks. I’m Rich@Apogee in the help groups.
Hi Rich – good to hear from you. As much as I love talking about AdWords, AdSense, & how the two could be improved, I can’t really go into detail publicly. Although I can’t speak for Google, I personally believe your suggestion is a good one and am keeping an eye on it myself.
BTW, sorry for the slow response. I was in competing at the US Open @ Go Congress out of town for the past week with limited internet access.
